Such an obvious idea, you have to wonder, what took so long

My first serious foray in to a programmable pedalboard was the TC Nova system (which, I suppose, was the launching pad for ultimately going Fractal). I used the Nova for a few years.

It’s interesting TC omitted any kind of drive option in the Plethora X5. Even though they present the lack of drive as a positive, it doesn’t really seem like a selling point to me.
 
I just don't understand this product. It doesn't have the features to compete with similarly priced boxes from L6 and Boss, and in spite of the pretty screens, the design seems antiquated.
 
TC has better pedals (IMO). This, supposedly, incorporates many of them, including all non-drive TC pedals I own.
