I also use a combination of Adams and CLRs. Adams a5x’s on my desk and 2 CLRs about a meter away on the side. The CLRs are the quietest gig monitors I’ve tried and I’ve tried Yamaha DXR 10, Friedman ASM and Matrix FR10 as well as the CLRs. It works great for me to just play at home with the CLRs and then just grab one or two for rehearsal or gig.

Thanks. Looks like CLR leads the way on this discussion. And it turns out I'm not the only person who has come up with this plan. Which means I'm not crazy. Gotta go tell the wife... Tell her I'm not crazy, that is. She probably gives two flips about monitor discussions.

At about $300 each, I'm gonna keep an eye on these! A pair of these may do the job...

These look like a rebadged Alto TS212, far from flat. Personally I would hold out for a pair of used CLR's.
