SRV Number One

Does anyone have a resource (link or email address) for a few good SRV #1 relic builders in the USA? I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket and I've always wanted to have one of those dirty, beat-up tone monsters.

I've done a thousand online searches and a lot of old info is out there (who was Tim Davis and where is he now?) but can't find much on current builders in the USA willing to recreate this masterpiece.

www.mjtagedfinishes.com does amazing relic work. I built a closet clean nitro tele that is one of the best guitars I have ever owned/played.

My next project is going to be a strat.

^ Thanks boogieman, I have purchased bodies from them in the past and should have thought to ask if they would do an SRV "replica". And I agree, they sound great, very resonant and the relicing is just right.

Agree on MJT...I have a few of their bodies and necks and they're outstanding.

I would be curious if they would do a custom build.
I had a friend ask them for a custom finish once (not a finish they currently offer) and they said - no.
I believe mainly because it would require time/effort/practice to do this finish, and was likely not worth the effort if they were only going to sell one of them. (so it's very understandable).
I am curious if they will do an SRV though......

I wondered about that issue. If the business is only selling bodies, is that still a copyright violation or does it need to be a whole guitar before it's considered a violation?
What about Yaniz Custom Guitars...anyone buy from them and live to tell about it?
