I've had my Axe FX II Out 1 connected into my Focusrite Scarlett 4i4 front XLR inputs for a while, no problem.
So I decided to instead connect the Axe Out 1 (Left and Right) into the rear line-in 1/4" inputs of the 4i4 to free up the front XLR inputs. I'm using a pair XLR to 1/4" cables to do this.
Seems to work no problem, but one pretty high-gain patch I use just squeals screechy feedback when I turn the volume all the way up on my guitar and don't play. This didn't happen when going into the front inputs.
I've checked the Focusrite input levels and they aren't clipping, the Axe output knob for Out 1 is just shy of noon.
Anyone have any ideas why I might now be getting squealing feedback on this thing?
