Speed-based Auto-engage (solved)

Bakerman

Axe-Master
According to Cliff in the link below, auto-engage is supposed to work like this:

"It is speed based. 5% is the value it will shut off at. It will turn on when it detects the pedal has been moved faster than a certain velocity. This prevents the effect from engaging if the pedal slowly droops."

With CCs this is not functioning as stated. For an off value of 5% the block will turn on at a CC value of 26 or higher, no matter how slowly the value was approached from below.

I hear you Bakerman.

It's worse when using Whammy, as you need a smooth pick up or you get serious discord and the effect is pointless. Maybe it would be better not to use auto-engage, but that will mean the loss of an IA and double-tapping....

Slightly OT, you can avoid this by combining the Mix control w/ the pitch. The effect is always on, but normally the mix is at 0. Set it so Mix goes to 100 before the pitch starts to drop. I think Yek had an excellent thread on how to do this.

It's not mentioned in the release notes, but this seems to be fixed in 11.0. No unwanted auto-engage from jumpy pedal port values so far either.
