Specifically intended to be used in mixes in the box...

What's the context of this statement and where did you read it?

"Mixing in the box " usually refers to audio engineers mixing audio in their DAW using only native or DSP based plugins, rather than outboard equipment like a console, compressors, effects or preamps.

I think in that context it means it is optimized for direct recording... It might not be one good to use in a live setting.

Can you point me to the specific source, eg a cab number? The wiki is rather vast and I'm rather lazy.

176 - 4x12 TV 57 D — Marshall 4x12 TV (Tall Vertical) cabinet, G12M speakers, Shure SM57, UltraRes (Cab Pack 14). Specifically intended to be used in mixes in the box.

But h.c.e. posted a link of a conversation that explains it :)
