Anyone have recommendations for a cheap spdif (coax) to usb 2 or 3 interface? I need something to go from the AX8 to my laptop for recording purposes. I have a firewire interface and desktop in the mancave but need something more portable at times. TIA
And for the most part all of those are as expensive as just buying something like a Scarlett or, what I'd recommend, a Saffire. In particular: I'd say go used.
the zoom u-44 looks pretty cool and it could be used as a mini mixer (which I have a purpose for) but it's still a little much for what I hoped to find.
I bought ESI U24XL and it works like charm exactly for your purpose. Buy it with no risk. The only one thing I wish if this box could work without computer - in this case it may serve as headphone amp and would just be a killing solution for all AX8 owners.
BTW I use it with Mac, no idea with Windows.
