I'm in this process now of trying to ensure a backup. Sadly, the Cioks Link cable (used to send 24v power to the Crux, in this case) has proven to be unreliable. On the same page, is there a compatible power supply that folks have used extensively and reliably? I.e, plug/unplug several days per week for gigs? They all just seem a little fragile.
I have a CS6 pro, but the goal is to shed everything and only use the VP4 and its power supply (and a backup).
One correction, I presume you meant to type 9 Volts, 1.7 AmpsTruetone 1 spot! $19.99 Sweetwater 9 VDC 1.7 mA center pin negative.
oops! I made the correction. One correction, I presume you meant to type 9 Volts, 1.7 Amps
As long as it meets the power requirements of 1.3 amps ! From what I'm seeing is most of the multi pedalboard power supplies are geared for pedals that are not very power hungry 3-600 mA. Unless they have the ability to double up on outputs to cary the current not to mention that those types are expensive!I would bet that pretty much any 9V type power supply will work for the VP4.... just need to watch out if you are also powering lot of other pedals too.
Interesting... Not sure why it would have an issue with that unless the connector for the power supply has the wrong diameter for the center pin. There are 2 common pin sizes, 2.1 - 2.5mm for the ID. I know the VP is 2.1mm, I did a quick search on the Kemper and it's supposed to be 2.1mm, can you confirm that?Interestingly I tried my Kemper Player power supply - (Intertrek 5003784 9V, 2.5A, 22.5W) and the VP4 didn't like it AT ALL. Most boots the VP4 wouldn't pass any audio, but on a few boots it passed a very faint and distorted signal. Screen and UI seemed to function normally.
Switched to the in-box supply and zero issues.
