Sonny Landreth with John Hiatt Live tonite at Ravinia

Very excited to see this performance tonight , these guys haven’t played together in years, and IMO,
FAS artist Landreth is at his slidey best when accompaning Hiatt....hope he’s using his AX8 (or III?!?!)

Sonny is the Godzilla of slide. His technique is uniquely his own. A truly original artist. Enjoy the show Brad.

Agree that playing with Hiatt is a great context for Sonny. Should be a great show. Last time I saw Sonny was in jam situation with Oteil Burbridge and John Vidacovich. NOT a great context. Sonny lead and played mostly blues stuff which I don’t think he really has a good feel for in spite of all his amazing technique and sound. Wish he would’ve just played his stuff. Oteil can pick up anything on the fly. I watched his quote jazz lines back at Eric Krasno at ridiculous speed. A much better pairing.
