Since the Axe2 in 2011, its USB provided an interface for recording with no monitoring latency. It’s the same with the Axe3, now with more options and features.

Not sure why your first post says you hate USB. It’s probably been the solution all this time.

Yeah, I think some people fear signal degradation & don't understand that the conversion from analogue to Digital has already been done by the time it hits USB. All that's being sent is 0' & 1's, same as spdif or any other digital connection.

There's only two possible reasons I can think of that one may not want to use USB in some circumstances;
1. The comparable speeds the signal is sent over the different protocols. No notable difference in my own experience.
2. The need or preference to use better converters of one unit over another, when using both units simultaneously.
