Hi,
I just received my FM3 today, but having a lot of noice :(
Seem like the unit is not grounded enough :(

  • I've tested it in alot of places in the house with same noice
  • My headrush works well, no noice
  • Upgraded to 2.0 (same noice in 1.06 when I got it)
  • tried different cables, same results

Attaching sound clips
  • patch 000 59 bassguy scene 3 Drive (same with Crunch if you raise the volume.
  • One where I touch the holding metal bars on and off and you can here a different sound
  • One where I just hit a chord

What can I do? Do I need to send it back? Been waiting 8 month for it to arrive.
Any help appreciated.
/ Joakim

Have you played with the gate at all
just for reference the new Fractal Ax3
has higher noise about 20 db difference in the setting than prior fractal products

Doesn't sound like a ground loop. More like EMI. Is the unit placed near a computer?

I’ve tested a bit more now and it seems to be connected to a few presets:
  • bassguy (turning off fuzz made it go away)
  • 039 brown sound
  • 076 jumped plexi 50w
Have tried all up to 76, the rest below 76 seem to work. Only a small bit of noice in the rest of the presets

Do you guys have the same problem?

No, problem with presets here, did you try to push ground button on the rear site next to the xlr output? Maybe also Try to remove tablets, iphone or any other devices next to the unit that might cause interference.

Do you use single coils?
A fuzz or cranked Plexi will amplify incoming noise.

Yep, tried all the above. Strange...

saw your image, looks like u only use output 2. Any reason?

I experience a similar thing - so many default presets are using the amps "bright switches" - without the bright switch, it sounds better.
Adjusting the noise gate was also a very good thing to do.
It's not completly away, but better.

Good to hear that I’m not alone. Is it the same patches that are noisy for you?

Currently i'm only on custom presets and avoiding the bright switch seems better.
Will try that later as well. Would it be possible for u to test these factory presets below to see if you get the same with those? Would be very kind.

Btw, we’re probably on the same patch, got mine yesterday (Sweden/Europe). You?
