Solid state amp (no pre/post) vs Tube amp with pre and post.

I'm still on the wait list, so am seeking advice from those lucky enough to have the kit already.

When I set everything up with the 4CM into my Mesa tube amp, I'm going to have delays and reverbs etc going through the effects loop (post) and most other effects designated pre.

However, I don't use my tube amp for practice (to preserve the tube life), but use a Blackstar solid state amp instead. So the question is, when I practice, will I need a complete separate set up, in other words re-designate all the post effects as pre, or does the FX8 automatically output everything in an effects chain, regardless of its pre/post assignment, when only 2 cables are hooked up to it?

Hope I'm making sense and that someone can answer my question? If you can, many thanks in advance.

All you'll need is one cable from pre out to post in.

The. It'll behave like there's no loop.

I am actually utilizing this "three cable method" in order to utilize an expression pedal to control the volume in between my gain and time -based effects.
