So what I use today after selling my AF2 last year.....

Hello my old fellow Fractalians

long time no read.......as you know, I sold my AF2 Mk2 + MFC101 last summer. Bought a nice mountain bike instead so I can loose some weight. It has the same color as the AxeFx display ;-)

Also put together my pedal board - yepp, it's true - I'm using a simple pedalboard rig today. But it has some features: Full stereo direct recording mode, Dual-Mono Mode (one output frequency compensated for personal monitoring, one normal out for a guitar amp - the normal output can also be switched to an internal little 30Watt RMS Class D amplifier, which is mounted under the board. For direct recording operation, I can load Impulse Responces -up to 100 cabinets. Okey, this is no AxeFx III, but be honest - who needs 259 amps and 2200 cabinets, when you found 2-3 great tones and a few cabinets you can work with? I have all my needed tones and effects on my little board.

Maybe someday I'll rejoin the fractal family again, maybe with an AX8 or something AX16 (scale down AF3 who knows?). For now, I have my cool mini-rig and a great mountain bike plus tons of fun!

Here are a few direct recorded clips: (Ethos Clean Fusion II do the Dumble OD thing), (it's not a synth, it's a guitar with the EHX polyphonic pitch shifter "Pitch Fork"), (Ethos Clean Fusion II do the Dumble Clean thing) - all played with my beautiful Maybach Teleman custom build telecaster (011-052 strings) - no post production or added fxs......

nice to hear from you :D that's the cool thing about so much gear, we can find what works for us at any moment in life *thumbs up*

Very nice.

Some days, I wonder if I should not do the same .
I mean, when I am fighting with a routing I don't understand with my Axe FX II.

But honestly, it doesn't last long.
I made the choice of the Axe FX II because it is very compact and ideal for bedroom player.
I hesitated between Axe FX II and the VST-plugin route, just because a friend of mine is a "specialist" and have a "killing" sound with only VST. (It's just incredible).
But I am not my friend, and a VST rig may be really complicated to maintain in the "real" life.

Axe FX II was the right choice for me.

I am happy for you that you found your own way.
Your MTB looks cool (I also bought an ebike last year and go as often as possible to work with. I lost 5 kg last year ;) )
