So, forget the ES-xxx journey for now

Rec'd the PRS SE McCarty 594 today from Sweetwater. Bottom line- I like it. Build is great. I did order the PRs Vintage LOCKING tuners because I am just so used to locking tuners. They will arrive Saturday.
The PRS 594 I had a year ago or so that I mentioned was the Single cut S2 model, 2X the $$+. I actually like this one better. Plays nice, sounds great.
Only issue, which is easily rectified when I get the locking tuners Saturday. I knew it as soon as I started playing it but, my trusty Absolute Origin digital Caliper confirmed it. The strings are 10-46, NOT 9-42 as advertised. I do like\need the 9-42's. So not a big deal Been playing it for around 3 hours now thru my FM9-lots o fun and the pickups sound really good to me. The SC split is OK-more like a change in volume to me than anything else-but that's NOT why I bought it.
I would have changed the strings regardless of gauge because, for electrics I m strictly an NYXL guy!

I've seen a few ads on Faceplant selling "Gibsons" at absurdly low prices but not one trying to pass themselves off as related to Sam Ash closing. I think the only "vetting" they do is can you pay for the ad! About all you can do is report the ad as a scam & hope Faceplant actually does something about it.
