Hi,
i was searching for a backup amp that is easy to carry around. I generally use a velocity 300 + 2x12 TT-Cab, but for my second band i don't want to carry the v300 around every time. So I bought the "the t.amp PM40C" just to test whether it is loud enough.
the t.amp PM40C Endstufenmodul
The facts:
I guess weight is around 1.6kg (haven't measured it)
40Watts
4&8Ohm
Price 55 Euros
THIS THING IS LOUD.. I used it this night for rehearsal and it can definitly keep up with a loud drummer... Nothing for big stadium, but loud enough for my purpose (we play rock).
The sound is good (not highend). I would say the sound character and the feeling is similar to sla2, but not as good as the v300. But the task wasn't to replace the v300, rather to have a small lightweight backup. That is exactly what it is...
Even at higher volumes I couldn't hear nasty disortion from this power amp.
And the reviews in some hifi-forums aren't too bad .
I just ordered another cab (1x12) from Tube-Town where i can mount the amp at the back and i will have a nice little backup rig.
Cheers,
