Show Us Your FX8 Rig!

This was my setup at the Hollywood Casino in Columbus, OH for A Date 2 Remember. I only played one song and didn't get the opportunity use much effects except for the drive and reverb as I couldn't have the FX8 on stage. FX8 and Amp.jpgM Guitar.jpg

I just picked up a Friedman Dirty Shirley... HOLY %$#@. I ran it 4CM last night with the FX8 and it was killing. I had the DS up about halfway on the Master with a loud rock band. Best tone I have ever had in 35 years of being a guitarist for a living. I was testing out a few amps at home and the Buster still has the most gorgeous cleans, but Dirty Shirley is a very dirty girl.

Awesome! Pardon my ignorance, but what's the "Buster"? Also, what's the story behind the guitar? I dig the finish and what appears to be a birdseye neck(?).

It's a Louis electric Buster amp. One of my favorites.

The guitar is a custom build. USA Customs neck and hand made body, burned with a torch. Kinman pups, Glendale plate, compensated saddles, Spurzel locking tuners. Best. Tele. Ever.

Curious why all the pedals with FX8? Does the FX8 not cover those areas?

Yep it does, but it's kind of a flexibele thing... With a clean amp i can use my drive pedals or make a combi with the fx8....
Also nice to have a few stomps that i can use 'on the fly' no matter what preset im in
The gig tonight is being filmed, so to be continued

As another person who uses outboard effects with the FX8 (including a Bogner Ecstacy Blue like Paul's), I would add that, although the FX might be able to do what the pedals do, it's easier to just hang on to the pedal rather than spend all the time (and frustration in my case) trying to really nail it on the FX. It makes more sense to me to treat the FX8 and other pedals as complimentary pieces of gear, not a mutually exclusive effort. That said, simplifying my rig is always a goal, so...

Just curious, as I wanted to get the TT FX8 board but didn't have the patience, could you show/elaborate on the mounting system they use for it? Peter told me something about how it was different but didn't really get into specifics. It would figure that about a month after I got my board they finally released the FX8 model.

Thanks.
