Seymour Duncan Powerstage 700 and AXE_FXMKII routing

2pt question:

Looking at this picture of Mark Holcomb demoing the PS700. Looks like he is going:

GUITAR>AXEFX>OUTPUT2>POWERSTAGE>CABINET.

Looking at his chain in axe edit though... The FXloop block is in the front bypassing all the blocks. He also has a CAB block. You'll also notice in the link below that he adjusts the EQ on the powerstage and it affects the tone etc. Does he just have OUTPUT 2 set to ECHO OUTPUT1? But if this is the case why would he have the CAB block then? Any ideas on how he has this routed?

Second question...

Is it possible to use the Seymour Duncan PS700 as the AMP instead of using the amp block in axe-fx (just experimenting with some pedals and things). the powerstage has an XLR DI out in the back so wondering could I just go from that to the AXE-FX input w/o Damaging my AXEFX? I think the DI on the PS700 bypasses the powerstage of the amp though, so no EQ or volume control which would not work for what i'm needing.

If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated!
