Setting up expression pedal to auto-engage wah

So I have an expression pedal added and assigned to wah-wah.

But I would like it to auto-engage globally.

I have a bunch of presets that use was and seem to have it automatically turned on with no ability to bypass it in the FM-3 editor.

I guess I need a modifier, but how can I do this globally without editing every patch?

This should be easy, but I am having trouble with the modifier step.

You can't. Modifiers settings are not global...

You might be able to use the Batch Setter function of FracTool to set it up across your presets but the FM3 has no "native" ability to do it.

I feel less stupid for not being able to figure out how to do it, then!

The good news is that now that I have the controller set up, the patches seem to already have auto-engage set up.

But until I did that, there was an always on wah that could not be bypassed.

Ahhh... Probably before you assigned the pedal port.

Your first sentence explains your second one. When you have a block's Bypass parameter assigned to a modifier (whether autoengage or not), you can't bypass it manually.
