Send and Return block

I can't get the Send and Return block to work in the FM3
You got any ideas?
I insert a FX send L => H9 input => H9 out => FX return L
The cables work, stereo/mono etc - But no sound.

Is there anything in the FM3 I should do except inserting the send/return instances?
 
The send and return blocks are for sending and returning on the grid only. It's one method you could use to extend a row. You need to set the mix on the return block for it to work. However, this won't work for the H9 in your case.

You need to use the input and output blocks for connecting to items externally. Make sure you set the proper input modes in the IO Settings if you are using Stereo or just the Left like shown above.

Page 37 of the FM3 manual (INSERTING OUTBOARD GEAR) provides an example.
 
Nope, it does not work.
When inserting Out2 - the signal continues to sound. (internally, to the output)
And when inserting the In 2, it becomes quiet.
The cable from In 2 does recieve a signal,
but the Out2 does not seem to send anything?
