To make preset switching more manageable on the FM3, using the onboard switches:

Add Layout > Switch actions which:
  1. display the Home >> Preset list, and show the preset name that has the focus in an enlarged or zoomed font
  2. allow the other two onboard switches to scroll up and down in that list
  3. let you press the switch a 2nd time to recall the selected preset, and switch back to the previous layout.

Yes, the whole interface could use some enhancements for a floor based usage. The interface is fine for a rack uint, but could use a lot of refinement for a floor based performance unit.

Scenes could be handled this way as well.

How would the FW differentiate between a second press to select the preset vs. a second press continuing to scroll through the list? Seems like this would have to be set up to use either a hold function or the third switch to select the highlighted preset/scene.

Haven’t thought it fully through yet. :)

If a specific action brings up this alternative “preset” layout, then buttons 1 and 3 would do the scrolling, and button 2 (middle) would do the selection.

Calling it a 2nd press was a mistake.
