Saving preset/scenes rewrites

Hi all.

The VP4, after having more than a few Axe and other digital products, is the first digital FX that I'm going to devote the time necessary to learn the system. So consider me a newbie of sorts.

The problem I'm having is when I went to change the effects blocks in preset 1 (Virtual Pedalboard) and the accompanying 4 scenes and thought I was saving properly, all the scenes would only show the pedals/blocks of the last scene I saved. I always go to FX pedal mode to make the changes: type of effect and to adjust the effect parameters.

I'm not frustrated by any means, and I can easily use this right out of the box as I did yesterday at a local band practice just using Preset mode (sounded awesome). But I want to go beyond that and save song, genre specific presets. Hope y'all can help and, if not, I'll eventually figure it out.

TIA,
Jim

  • Presets: "Which 4 effects do you want, and which model/settings you want in each effect block's 4 channels?"
  • Scenes: "Which of the 4 channels do you want to use on each block? Which combination of the 4 blocks are currently turned on?"
  • Channels: "You have an effect block of X type, what model and/or settings do you want to use in each of the 4 channels?"
    • Example for Delay:
      • Ch1: Analog delay.
      • Ch2: Digital delay.
      • Ch3: Digital delay with different settings from ch3.
      • Ch4: Tape delay.
I hope that helps understanding the difference.

Thank you. I'm going to go at it again today. I've referenced the manual many times when it comes to "saving" but obviously I'm missing the bigger picture. So each effect block has 4 channels. Yeah, I'm getting confused but I will persevere. It will take a while and the MS MC8 Pro I got for the VP4 will be collecting dust before I'm comfortable enough to integrate it.
