Routing to 18i20 for Wet/DI tracks

So ever tutorial I have followed has not been specifically for the 1st gen 18i20, and thus I haven't been able to fully achieve the setup I want. Which is recording my axeFX II wet signal and Dry DI signal via my 18i20 through Cubase 12 Pro.

I've gotten close to achieving the desired configuration using these settings: 2022-05-24 (1).png

but the "DI" signal sounds shitty, so this is not ideal, and so I am assuming I am doing something wrong. Can anyone just give me a rundown on exactly what to set everything to.

Heres my complete setup I am using Windows 11, Axe FX II, Scarlett 18i20 1st Gen, Ibanez RGA742FM 7-String.

Yea i followed that setup, thats how I got to where I am at. Its mostly the routing setup for Mix Control that I can't seem to figure out right, and how I should have whatever preset i am using on the axe fx setup

AxeFX Output 1 L and R -> 18i20 Input 3/4 on rear
AxeFX Output 2 L and R -> 18i20 Input 5/6 on rear
Pan input 3/4 left and right in mixer software
Pan input 5/6 left and right in mixer software
Set up AxeFX preset
Set another input in AxeEdit going directly to an FX loop block (this will send the DI out to output 2)
Gain stage everything (use output controls on front of AxeFX2)
Set Cubase to record 18i20 input 3/4 on Channel 1
Set Cubase to record 18i20 input 5/6 on Channel 2
Mute Channel 2 from being monitored
Hit Record
Channel 1 will be your amp tone in stereo
Channel 2 will be your DI in stereo
