Rockin' the Q6 wah and Recto's (New OH California Duo TRAD)

Hi guys,

Haven't had a lot of time to hang around here lately but I'm happy to be back!
I'm really impressed with the new Q6 Recto amps.
I've always loved them but now Cliff has reached a new level of awesomeness!
I'm also really diggin' the new wah's.
Yeah, I'm a Hammett fan and not ashamed to admit it.
In fact, I really love his unique wah sound so I tried to replicate that a little bit here.
If you want to know the settings I used let me know here and I'll share them.

The cab I'm using is the OwnHammer 412 TRAD with the V70 speaker option.
It's from the brand new California Duo library, I recommend checking that out.
I made an introductory video about that pack which you can view in my signature.
FINALLY, FINALLY after years of begging Kevin decided to offer a Mesa straight traditional 4x12 in the OwnHammer line and it does not disappoint.

Hope you enjoy this tune!

Sounds great man. How much of a difference do you feel there is between the slant and straight version of the boogie traditional 4X12?

I would definitely like to know the settings! Especially of the wah. Thanks!

I'm not at home now but I'll check them later for you!

In my opinion the Straight has a beefier and fuller sound.
The overall frequency response just seems much nicer.
There definitely is a big difference.
I recommend trying it out, I'm pretty sure you'll love it....

Noice! But u misspelled Kirk WAHMIT!

Still can't decide on this pack.... Not sure if I should just wait until the HH2 collection comes out and just keep using the older OH Mesa cabs, or take the plunge. Damn, IR's are an addiction!

I would just do it, I promise this pack won't disappoint. ;)
It's very affordable and the HHC2 will be very different....

Sounds great. I really liked the wah.. That might be the best wah tone I've ever heard. I must have!

I've been thinking about buying the OH Mesa cabs too. After much experimentation it seems I like them better than anything else for my metal tones.

Nice job man

Thanks guys!
This is what I usually do with the wah:

Pick the Cry Baby wah.
Lower the low frequency a bit, maybe a 100/200hz lower than the default setting.
Raise the resonance a bit, not too much.
Lower the new low cut control a bit too.
Making more room for the wah in the lower register helps to make the wah effect more pronounced.
If you want more bite open the high frequencies up a bit too.
