RJM question: way to trigger which one effect the external pedal controls, but keep auto-engage?

So I have but a single EV-2 pedal, and a Mastermind controller. I have patches that have wah, tremolo, volume, etc. blocks in them. What I'd like to do is have the IA in the Mastermind simply point to which one of those blocks the auto-engage is supposed to be triggering. I've got buttons set up currently so that if I press them then Wah is engaged, for example, but it's already on. And if I activate auto-engage, those buttons have zero effect.

Any ideas?
 
On the RJM I have a MUX button programmed with the “IA Cycle” option, without “Menu”. This switches between the MUX channels using single presses.
 
This works great! Either with the MUX button as you suggested, or with dedicated buttons for each of the effects like a stompbox. Thanks again!
