RIP Leonard Norman Cohen

One of the most interesting and influential songwriters and poets the world has ever seen has sadly left us.

At age 82 it's natural to pass and Leonard Cohen recently said himself, that he was ready to die - nevertheless his passing is still a big loss to the world of music and poetry.

2016 has been a year where a lot of the giants have passed and left the world, and now the singer with the golden dark voice, the poet and author of Hallelujah has left us as well.

I really have not enjoyed 2016.

I met Leonard, very briefly, in a cafe in Toronto one fall afternoon in 2004. He was very kind and accommodating of a fan stammering on about his love of the art he created. His poetry, I believe, will endure. I'll certainly do my part to pass on his absolute genius to future generations.

R.I.P. Leonard. What a sublime talent, the world of music is a better and more interesting place for his having existed in it.

A huge loss. His was indeed a life well lived. His legacy is his art and that looms large. I especially appreciate that he was not political, as so many entertainers are.
