RIP Chuck Yeager!

He was a born rocker. He just flew airplanes instead of playing guitars.

Night before he broke the sound barrier he was drinking and chasing women at the bar. Jumped on a horse and fell off while racing another drunk test pilot. Broke his ribs.
Next morning with broken ribs and after drinking all night he couldn’t close the hatch on the X1. He had a janitor cut off a broomstick that he used push the hatch shut.
Then he became the first person to ever break the sound barrier.

Don’t make em like that anymore!

Wow...just found out by reading this post. A true legend and American hero. Back when men were really men and damn proud of it!

This would be a good day to watch The Right Stuff (the 1983 movie, not the awful 2020 tv series).

LOVE that movie!

That's because they call men like that toxic now. There's no more striving to be great anymore. Too much work. Instead they try to pull others down.

He was chasing his wife, in the bar and on the horse.
