Guys, I don't mean to tell anyone what to do with their money, but for those of you who might be interested, Reverb.com is going to be donating 5% of their revenue from Memorial Day to Guitars for Vets.
If you've been eyeing a piece of gear on their site and are leaning toward buying it, I would urge you to consider doing so on the 25th.
If you do the math, it's not a lot of money... Reverb fees are ~3% IIRC, so for every $100 you spend, roughly $0.15 goes toward GfV. But keep in mind, charities like this usually get the bulk of their product in donations. Often the deciding factor between these donations sitting in storage or ending up in the hands of people who can use them is logistic expenses such as shipping. In other words, that $0.15 can go a lot further than you might think.
On a personal note, about a decade ago, I lived in a bombed out abandoned school off route Florida, just outside the Sadr City wall. We had a gym comprised of sandbags & cinder blocks, a row of port-a-johns riddled from sniper fire, and this old beater acoustic we'd pass around at the end of the day. I have no idea where that one came from, but if GfV can put more of them in the hands of guys in the worst shitholes you can imagine like my buddies and I were in, that's a win in my book. :encouragement:
