Got a few DMs so.. for those curious that participated in my previous now locked thread (found here), an update:
I received the broken unit last week (aug 2nd) and contacted G66 (I'm in the EU) support the day after, when mr. Cliff posted his analysis of the problem. Then on Thursday morning G66 sent me a replacement unit which was delivered to my doorstep earlier today. It could've been here faster were it not that I was out of town.
This replacement unit sounds 100% fine, with pristine reverbs as we know them from Fractal. Yes, even on that ultra minimal preset I made.
Obviously I am happy with my new Axe but I am also very very impressed with customer support. Until now I had only heard of its reputation.
Thanks for helping me out, gents and thank you Cliff for the diagnosis.
Now it's time to put my old trusty Axe FX 2 on sale.
