Reseting the Gate Parameters

I have a blank patch (all shunts) that I'm using to build new presets in V10. I wanted to be sure that even the Input block is reset, so I selected Layout on the front panel and then paged over to the Gate tab and double-clicked the BYPASS button. The Attack time was the only thing I saw change and it went all the way down to 1ms. Almost every patch in the stock preset Bank A has the attack time set to 10ms, so I thought that was the default.

Is it normal/desirable to have the attack time defaulting to 1ms?

It's desirable if you like a very hard gate!
