Removing support bar for good?

Has anybody done this?

I've tightened the bolts before but wondered if I could just remove it entirely?

When you tightened the bolts, obviously you had the chasis open....did you see the bar serving any purpose inside the chasis (like support?)

If not, then I don't see why you couldn't remove it. It's obviously there to protect the knobs/controls on the face of the unit...but if you don't care about that, then I say why not.

Its only purpose is protection for the knobs. Internally it doesn't do anything and is safe to remove if you aren't concerned about kicking a knob off the top.

This has been brought up and discussed pretty thoroughly around here before but I don't remember the thread.

Edit: these are conclusions I came to on my own after looking inside the unit. I don't believe anyone from fractal has given an official stance on the matter.
