relays on fx8 wiring

hey guys.i just got a fx8mark2and am trying to have it switch my mesa boogie triaxis on specific channels.do i do it with midi?or these relay ports on the unit.and if so i have no idea how to hook it up to my mesa.any help woulfd be greatly appreciated

Connect the FX8 MIDI-out to the TriAxis MIDI-in.

i cant seem 2 get this thing to switch channels on my triaxix,its driving me insane.i got the out going to the in on the triaxis,but all these program change and number channels.idk much about this.i know how to step on pedals to make them work but this is crazy
