Recording with USB in sonar X1

Hello.
I might be missing something but I do not manage to record with USB in Sonar.
The project is in 48 khz, 24 bits and when I look in the "preference"window in the in and out list, I can see the Axe but it is grey and I can not select it.
How are you configuring sonar when you use usb?

What operating system?

If Windows, make sure no other software has the AxeFx selected as the sound device. Including the Windows Control Panel -> Sound Devices.
 
do you use the ASIO mode driver in "Audio options-Advanced"? when you switch to it it will reconfigure Sonar in 48khz and 32 bits which is the setting for the Axe Fx driver
 
I use windows 7.
I use ASIO driver but i am not sure it is 32 bits. I will check this.
I willl check windows control panel too. Thank you.
 
Doc P, remember too that you can only use one ASIO device at a time, I made that mistake because my soundcard has an ASIO driver as well as the AXE FX II.

Thanks! I will try this tonight. Did not have time yesterday... I believe with all those kind advices it will mork!

I have not had any problem recording with Sonar X1 and USB from the Axe II .
Sometimes you need to pull out the usb cable and re-insert it, then Sonar will ask you to set up your inputs, which is when you select the Axe Fx for midi in and out

I managed to select USB when I deselected all my FF800 in and outs.
