I'm in the market for a new recording interface. I've been eyeballing the M-Audio 2626, which seems to be getting good reviews for it's price range. The only thing that's holding me back is that the balanced outs are 1/4" instead of XLR. I would like to use my atomic wedges as studio monitors (can't afford new monitors), but the 1/4" on those is unbalanced. Am I going to get a ton of buzz sending a balanced signal to an unbalanced input? I'm assuming that I'll need to use a balanced 1/4" cable.
Does anybody know of a decent interface in the $600-$800 price range with balanced XLR Out? Pro-tools compatibility is a bonus, but not really needed.
