Recording CC's live in Reaper.

So I have a question. Instead of manually putting in all the CC's to change scenes in Reaper, I was wondering if anyone knows a way to just use my pedal board, hit the record button, and just doing it like recording a guitar take.

Anyone knows how this could be done?

I have a 3 hour show that I have to program guitar changes for, and I'm looking to do it as efficiently as possible. I'd rather not spend days on it if I don't have to.

I think you'd have to program stuff either way tbh, because the FC board doesn't output midi commands naturally until you tell it to, right? I'd probably just listen to your set and place a marker (press M) every time you want a CC command, and label it for what you want it to do. Then go back and add the midi info and you're golden. IF this isn't the only time you'll be doing it, it might be worthwhile to get your Midi blocked programmed so you can do that going forward

I'm not using an FC Board if that makes a difference, I'm using a Melo Audio MIDI Commander. I don't know if it has the capability, but if it does, I don't see why the Axe FX's MIDI out couldn't send the data to my DAW. So the signal chain would go, Pedal Board (MIDI Commander) > Axe FX MIDI In > Axe FX MIDI Out > Focusrite MIDI In > DAW.

Does that make sense? Would that even work?

It's pretty simple. Connect your MIDI controller to your computer (via a midi interface). In your DAW, add a midi track, set the track input to your midi interface, and turn on midi input monitoring. Set the output midi device for that track to your Axe-FX. You should now be able to control your Axe-FX from your midi controller. Arm that midi track for recording, hit record and play your set. At the end, you'll have all the midi recorded into that midi track in your DAW session, ready for playback.

Yep you can definitely do it. I used to do this with the MFC-101 and the Axe II with USB adapter mode turned on. I could record pedal performances for wah, volume, etc. for later use or even when reamping.

All taken care of boys, I just connected my pedalboard via USB and reaper saw it as a MIDI input device. With this, I recorded live MIDI events, that I can later assign to the AXE FX. Thanks for the ideas y'all.
