Random USB Audio Drop

I'm having a seemingly random issue where when I'm feeding my iPad or my MacBook Pro for backing tracks. I'm going direct from the FM9 into the USBC port on either of the devices, not going through a dock. Audio will work almost 100% of the time when I'm practicing at home, and it will work during our pre-worship rehearsal, but after it sits idle for a little bit, when the service starts, it of course doesn't work. I'll do a quick unplug and replug, relaunch whatever software I'm using, etc, but no luck. The only way to get it back is to power cycle the FM9. I did the most recent USB Update 1.03 along with firmware updates last night. It's happened on separate occasions, a couple times with the iPad running a couple different apps for backing tracks and pads, and once with my MacBook running Logic for backing tracks. Any thoughts?

Turn off any power-saving features on your computer’s USB port. Those features can put the port into a sleep state.

My FM3 does that. If I make any adjustment to buffer size it comes back. Power settings didn’t help unfortunately.

On both the Mac and the iPad, all screen savers, energy savers, display timers, etc were disabled. I could try changing the buffer size in Logic on the Mac, but on the iPad there isn't a setting like that. The problem on the iPad also happened with two different apps, Sunday Keys and Go Button. I use Go Button quite frequently with other USB interfaces on a regular basis and have never experienced this issue, even with long pauses between cues. This seems to be completely localized to the FM9.

Grrr… should have read the manual a little more thoroughly. Mini-dock recommended. I shall try this out next week. Thanks!

It mentions a Mac so I’m not sure if that applies to Windows PC’s. I’ll try my hub next time I play. Hope it works for you. Hope it works for me too.

Happens to me on all my fractal devices fairly regularly and never any other ones I have using the same cables and devices. Only thing I can do is cycle power.
