R.I.P Mike Bossy

I was lucky enough to be a Long Island kid during those years and actually got to see all of those guys play - Bossy, Trottier (Trots), Gillies, Tonelli, Pat LaFontaine (Patty La), Bobby Nystrom (Bobby Ny), the Sutters, Pat Flatley (Flats), Billy Smith, Denis Potvin, Kenny Morrow....

RIP Mike Bossy. You were a legend.

Damn...all my heroes are dying.

I met him when I was a wee lad. I went to a camp in Montreal called "Champions" and even in the middle of the summer we were playing hockey in an indoor rink. Every week, we met a celebrity sports hero. He was one of them. He was soooooo nice. He got on the ice with us and played around teaching us stuff. Met Guy LaFleur, too. Sad Bossy is gone. What an icon.
