Quick ADSR triggering question

From what I understand the ADSR triggering is based on Input 1 as a whole (both L and R) to determine when the threshold is crossed... is this tied to the design of the hardware, or is it conceivable that a future firmware update could allow the two ADSRs to triggered independently on the L and R channels (or Inputs 1 and 2), say if a different instrument was running through each?

It has been a requested feature for a couple of years and hasn't happened (probably technical reasons). Unless, Cliff comments specifically about it, I wouldn't count on it.
