Proper recording with Reaper

Hi All,

I owned an FM3 and I am also using Reaper for recording. I notice that whenever I press the “Arm” button on any track the output sound is changing.

It’s like there is an extra layer of reverb\echo.

Will appreciate if someone can share is setup when using Reaper.

Yeah turn off input monitoring on the armed track (hit the speaker icon next to the Red arm button until it's just an outline). If it's left on, you'll hear both the direct monitor feed and the software monitoring feed (with latency) mixed together and you'll get weird phase/echo issues.

Also, in your Audio Device settings, make sure you change the last input and output drop downs so it shows you all 4 available inputs and outputs too. As shown in the screenshot you're only getting the first two of each.
