Guys,
I wasn't able to find a HOW-TO or anything on setting up the FC-300 to work with the Axe-Fx.
So I wrote one

It's not complete, but will show you how to get started. Beats trying to figure it out from the Owners Manual !!
I put it all into the wiki - it's not yet linked into the Tutorials yet, but feel free to look and give me feedback.

Thanks for the post and detailed info on the fc-300, I own myself and it took me a while to configure all the buttons and expression pedals properly.. I was just wondering if you had a way to avoid the fc-300 to constantly send midi update to the afx? (midi in of the afx keeps lit up when fc-300 is connected)

I don't have an FC-300 but it's probably sending out "active sensing" messages.
Check the manual and see if you can disable them.

It is the FC-300's Active Sensing "FEH" MIDI message, send every 400ms.
It will not harm the Axe-Fx, but that flashing can be annoying.

Will investigate turning it off. if that's even possible.

However, be aware that if it can be turned off, it may be a "system wide" change and if you use the FC-300 with another Roland device [VG99?], turning it off may have unintended consequences (or NOT)

UPDATE:
It appears that this cannot be turned off [posted the question on other forums]
Looks like we'll have live with the flashing light when using the FC-300 with the Axe-Fx.
sorry.
