From what I read, schools and nursing homes are next to the fertilizer plant that exploded... Are there no zoning requirements there? So unfortunate.

Thanks for your kind words and thoughts Rain. We live 80 miles from West (yep 80 miles) and felt and heard the blast. Thought it was an earthquake. They are no longer even sure how many are dead. Such a sad and terrible thing.

It does look strange in slow mo... but why would someone drop a missile on a fertilizer plant? maybe a distraction for something else going on in the media that drew too much attrition hummm you be the judge.

I just pray for those killed, injured, left homeless. Crazy to site a plant like this so close to residences. In their last 'safety filing' company said there was 'no chance' of a significant explosion. I don't trust any enterprise whose first priority is to make money. Any plant with toxic or explosive materials should be far, far away from residences. Texas has some of the laxest laws in the Union too.
