Power amp transparency questions

As ridiculous as it sounds, I've found that I LOVE the tone of my Axe-FX II straight into my old Yamaha PA cab (without a poweramp, mind you) and it has almost enough juice to play comfortably at bedroom volumes. My heavy preset translates perfectly and the visceral feeling is amazing.

Is it reasonable to hope for a power amp to amplify EXACTLY this sound without adding or subtracting anything? I've used several power amps over the years (2 different Carvin DCM's, an old MosValve, currently trying a Hartke TX600 as a power amp) and I've found that even with the Carvins (which claim to be transparent) there's a noticeable loss of bass response/tightness and there's more lower mids added which sounds ugly.

Maybe this sort of thing is why people keep saying the CLR's sound really "hi-fi"? I've been told that Matrix amps impart their own sound, which I'd rather avoid. Does anyone have an idea how the Dayton Amps in Xitones compare to the modules being used in CLR's?

I'm sure I'm splitting hairs here but that's kind of my thing.

Thanks for reading.
