Power Amp/Cabinet Modeling ON/OFF!

Can someone please explain why power amp and cabinet modeling turned ON affects the sound even if no amp blocks and/or cabinet blocks are used in the preset?

I am using the Axe III pre a traditional Vox AC30 with amp and cabinet modeling turned OFF.

When turned ON - which I would generally like to do, to be able to use amp and cabinet modeling for a second independent path in some presets - there is a small increase of volume and harshness coming to the sound with the traditional amp.

Why is this?
Thank you!

Maybe your cab block’s level is set to a higher value than the default, so when it’a activated, it also increases the volume/acts as a boost

The power of suggestion is demonstrable on audio perception. Some people believe they hear something even if nothing has changed. It's highly unlikely that what he is claiming is possible. I'd put the confidence at greater than 99.999999%.
