Bug? (possible) - Drive Mix is not true dry signal (not a bug)

GM Arts

Fractal Fanatic
firmware 12.01

Not sure if this is intentional, but the I expected the Drive block Mix control to set a mix between dry signal and effected. However, at 0% mix, the dry signal is still affected by drive Tone, the EQ controls, and even bit reduction.

ok thx Bakerman.

We can always use a volume block in parallel for true dry signal mixing anyway.

I've noticed this a few times. What was the purpose of it behaving in this way?

Authentic recreation perhaps?
Most classic drive pedals (for example the TS9 tube screamer) having the input- & output buffer amp still in their signal chain when being bypassed. That affects the sound due of changed input and output impedance to the next following fx devices or the amplifier.

Not nearly as much as sending the dry signal thru two EQ stages and a bit crusher :nightmare:
