Plug in my expression pedal to the AXE EFX III or into Mastermind?

I'm trying to eliminate a cable in my loom. Would it be more beneficiary to plug in my expression pedal cable directly into the AXE EFX III or go through the Mastermind expression port and use that to control affects on the AXE FX? IF plugging the exp pedal into the mastermind is going to add a bunch of steps whenever I want to setup and control effects with a controller, then I don't want to do that. But if it's just as easy, plugging the expression pedal cable into the mastermind pedal board obviously eliminates a cable going all the way to the Fractal. Thanks for any advice)

Go into the Mastermind.

Define the CC you want it to send.

Go onto the Axe Fx and pick one of the External Controllers and assign the same CC.

Now assign that External Controller as the modifier source for what you want to control.

Not too many steps (a couple more than direct to the Axe Fx) and keeps your cables better managed.
