Plexi 50W 6CA7: Killer factory cabs

Try these cabs:

Factory 2 #577 4x12 Brit TV 57 C1 ML
Factory 2 #578 4x12 Brit TV 121 C1 ML (Level -10dB)

And these amp settings (only thing changed under the hood is Speaker Compression turned up to 6).
With my Strat it sounds pretty good (brighter than the Les Paul, but that's what single coils sound like ;)).

Sounds good! Here's a slight variation. By turning the input trim down to .5 and bringing up the input drive til you get the desired amount of crunch, it gets really fat. I also turn presence off. A happy accident when trying out you IR suggestion; I accidentally used factory 1 #578 @ -10dB (1x15 Buttery 57b).

That’s what I like it for 😉
It breaks up differently in a way that I like. With the input gain in the mid 5s somewhere, and my Strat's volume knob at 5 - 6 or so, using the bridge and middle pickups, it gets this wonderful crisp clean that sounds like a buttload of 80s tunes....

Factory 2 #545 4x12 Brit 70s GB 313 I
Factory 2 #521 4x12 Brit 70s GB 57G

That's my favorite combination.

Oh man, thanks for posting. I’m often overwhelmed by the cab choices and stick with a few favorite external IRs and, of course, legacy cab 103 LOL! But the combination above is truly great and I never would’ve stumbled onto that on my own.

I ended up on a different 57 and one of the 160s on that cab. Great-sounding cab!

I made some presets with the "screaming plexi" to compare four speaker combinations quickliy at loud volume before the rehersal. I like the Factory 709 very much, so it is always on top of the list with some variation. You may want try these combinations and some of this thread too:

These are some great cab combinations. Rarely down I download a shared preset and have it work well easily, but there were a lot of scenes that had the kind of bite I love. Thanks!

It was also fun trying these with different Plexis.

I've been liking this combination lately. I pan them roughly 40 and -40.

Factory 2 #576 4X12 Brit PR75 906 B1 ML
Factory 2 #574 4X12 Brit PR75 121 B1 ML

I also like these two Recto 2X12's together:

Factory 2 #97 2X12 Recto V60 57 OH
Factory 2 #100 2X12 Recto V60 U70 OH

As much as I enjoy the new Plexi 50W 6CA7, no Amb Block is complete without a Cab Block. I find the following factory cabs to really sound amazing with the new Plexi. I use one of the following pairs together, all at 0dB except where noted:

Factory 2 #840 4x12 Recto ST 57M A YA
Factory 2 #530 4x12 Brit 70s GB 121 I

Factory 2 #545 4x12 Brit 70s GB 313 I
Factory 2 #521 4x12 Brit 70s GB 57G
Factory 2 #577 4x12 Brit TV 57 C1 ML
Factory 2 #578 4x12 Brit TV 121 C1 ML (Level -10dB)
Factory 2 #757 4x12 MAR-CB LYN 57 OH
Factory 2 #758 4x12 MAR-CB LYN 84 Rear OH (Level -5dB)
Factory 2 #60 2x12 MAR-66 OH-GREEN 57 OH
Factory 2 #63 2x12 MAR-66 OH-GREEN U70 OH (Level -5dB)
Factory 2 #555 4x12 Brit 70s GB 4047 B
Factory 2 #539 4x12 Brit 70s GB 212 B (Level -10dB)
Factory 2 #514 4x12 Brit 68 Pinstrp SM7 C2b VH
Factory 2 #513 4x12 Brit 68 Pinstrp RNR D2 VH
Factory 2 #441 4x12 AX V30 160 E
Factory 2 #434 4x12 AX V30 121 E

My favorites at the moments are the pair Factory 2 #555 / Factory 2 #539.
These are the Amp Block settings - Speaker Impedance Curve is 4x12 Brit Greenback, the rest is default.

Edit: I used this preset mainly with a Les Paul Traditional (57s pickups)
