My guess is nothing is as easy as it seems , think about it in the Ax3 you have the ability to pretty much pick any parameter to drag into the window and make it a performance control

It's ok for me if I can drag in just parameters from main pages. Like the tonestack of an amp, basic drive params or effects. Just like if you had pedals and an amp. There you can't change the bias or diodes on the fly as well.
