Odd preset incident

Hi Guys

I had the most weird incident tonight at a gig . I have my complete set list (songs sorted) for our full 2 concert sets. I use 1 tailored preset per song. Then I copied (using Axe edit) 10 presets to 10 empty slots, our short set list for festival jobs. I have been rehearsing with this for some weeks now with no problems, but tonight 2 presets had switched place??? I'm, sure I didn't do it at home, because I just turned my Axe on and played.

I have an MFC connected with an Ethercon cable (brand new) a RAC12 connected with Midi, and one expression pedal (Mission Engineering) connected to my MFC. I run my MFC in Preset mode, 5 scenes and the rest as IA switches.

Another thing I saw last rehearsal was an Axe timeout message (that's why I replaced the Ethercon cable) haven't seen that since.

My trouble began after updating to Q3.03 and Connecting the RAC12, but is that known for causing trouble?
After updating from Q2.0x I kept my presets as they were, and did no system reset etc. on the Axe...

I have a big gig comming up next week at a festival, any help is much appreciated guys.

The 2 presets swapping places sounds weird. But I wonder if when you went to save a change to a preset on the unit you hit the swap tab and it rotated the 2 presets in the list around. Maybe a drag/swap in Axe-Edit Preset Manager possibility as well?

I've had a few issues with Ethercon but I've also had them with FasLink. In both cases it was a bad cable. I twice had shorted XLR's that I bought at Monoprice. I've since upgraded to Mogami and haven't looked back.

Hope you get it sorted out!

Hi there

Thanks for your input mate, much appreciated. What is the button combo for making 2 presets switch place? It could be that (thank god if it is)

I don't have my axe in front of me. However, I believe it's when you press the store button. On the screen you'll see a tab that lets you swap two presets around.

Well maybe could be that, but I just checked it, after pressing store, you must choose next page called swap, so it takes a couple of presses... hmmmm.. I'll see if it was a one timer :) My presets are back in correct order again

Ohh tottaly forgot, another thing that happened tonight was, I pressed the up or down preset button on my MFC and it jumped from preset 36 to preset 131??? Any idea about that?

I Think I figured it out based on an advise from Cliff in another thread.
I have my RAC12 hooked up with a MIDI cable an the MFC with the ethercon at the same time. I Think its a MIDI conflict That create ny trouble. I have unhooked the RAC, and Them time will tell IC That was it?

But whats the point of having the RAC12 if you cant have it plugged in to the AXE at the same time as the MFC?

My XL+ and Mk3 MFC also exhibit the "jumping to random presets" glitch - I have the RAC12 plugged in via a MiDi cable (there is no other way) - and my MFC is connected to the AXE with the Faslink cable. If i have to unplug the RAC12 to stop the glitch then frankly there's not much point in having it.

According to the RAC manual, you should connect the MFC to the merge input of the RAC, and Then a MIDI biderectional between the RAC and the Axe.
