Octave Divider in the Pitch Block

I'm trying to get the sound of the guitar in the opening phrase of Rock and Roll Fantasy by Bad Company. Sounds like an Octave pedal so I'm using the Octave Divider in the Pitch Block. It's pretty close, but my problem is that when I pick a note harder/softer, the octave pitch seems to stay the same volume. So, it almost sounds like the mix is changing when it's not. Any ideas how to fix this?

I also would like to just set up a simple -1 Octave down to double my lead solos. I have an FX8 MKII, which I’m certain is similar to the AX8 or FM3, etc. I have access to the online editor, but need a general guide as to how to proceed.

Thanks!
