Novation Nocturn

so, if I set the 8 encoders of the Novation Nocturn to CCs 16 to 23 and program all my patches with this layout:

external 1 = drive 1 drive
external 2 = drive 1 tone
external 3 = drive 1 level
external 4 = amp 1 drive
external 5 = amp 1 master
external 6 = amp 1 level
external 7 = reverb 1 mix
external 8 = delay 1 mix

this little box would give me realtime hands on control of these parameters?

exactly this should do every MIDI Controller with MIDI out but the Nocturn has just USB :-(

yea, bummer.
this would mean I'd have to re-route the Nocturn's MIDI info via MIDI Ox to the Axe. not acceptable.

any suggestions for a nice simple 8 knob MIDI controller with a MIDI out? Doepfer discontinued theirs, regrettably and everybody else seems to have settled for USB.
The Behringer is a bit too much and to large really - just a small box with a few knobs would be fine.
