[NOT A BUG] "Learning" flashing message

HI
I have just received my Axe FX 2 xl+ and new mic-101 mark 3 and I try to set up my expression pedals.
When going in I/O ->CTRL->EXT CTRL 1->Pedal 1 I have a message "learning" that keeps flashing.
I tried to turn the unit off and back on but that s still the case when I go back to the I/O menu + my pedal is not recognised.
 
If you press Enter that puts the unit into "Learn Mode" where it tries to learn the controller. This is not a bug.

but my pedal is still not recognised although I could calibrate it in the mac-101
when I create a way by example and want to control it with the source extern 1, the control level is at the max in the diagram and there is not apparent way to put it down to zero and to follow the pedal action ?
sorry if it sounds too candid, but it s my first steps with these systems and I could not find explanation in the forum
